🌟 Project Overview
Positioned at the end of the Sunset Avenue pedestrian corridor and abutting the St. Denis Centre, the Toldo Lancer Centre expands the university’s sports and recreational capabilities. Key components:
- Six-lane, 25-meter swimming pool
- Two-level fitness centre
- Multiple multipurpose and spin/martial arts studios
- Social commons area
- Triple gymnasium with seating for 2,000+
- Suspended 200 m indoor walking track
- Outdoor athletic fields (soccer, cricket, etc.)
👥 Community & Institutional Impact
- A major enhancement to Windsor's athletic infrastructure that nearly tripled recreational space and welcomes nearly 10,000 weekly visits
- Funded in part by a record $55M student contribution toward the total $73M project cost
- Recognized with the 2023 NIRSA Outstanding Facility Award, the only Canadian facility selected
💻 Technical Responsibilities & Tools Used
- Led architectural documentation, BIM coordination (architectural, structural, MEP), and developed a tailored BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
- Managed model auditing and construction deliverables to maintain quality and design fidelity
- Balanced ambitious aesthetic and institutional goals throughout all stages
